Gateway Prep Club is designed for athletes who are ready to grow their skills, build confidence, and learn game concepts in a fun, development-focused environment. The program combines our weekly Spring League as well as one club practice per week, giving athletes a balanced and engaging field hockey experience.
Prep Club is offered by grade level and runs seasonally throughout the year—fall, winter, and spring. It is one of our most popular entry points into Gateway Field Hockey, especially for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade athletes who are beginning their pathway toward Elite Club participation in the fall.
This program is a great fit for newer and intermediate players who want to experience club-level training without committing to a full year of Elite Club. It also serves as an excellent preparation option for older athletes looking to sharpen their skills ahead of their upcoming high school season.
Throughout the season, Gateway coaches emphasize strong foundational skills while gradually introducing more advanced techniques, positioning, and game strategies. This progressive approach helps athletes develop a deeper understanding of the game while continuing to enjoy a supportive and age-appropriate competitive environment.
